A great crowd was on hand for the big Sink Off. Thr Sink Off is the culmination of William Tell Elementary’s summer STEM Camp. The students spent the past week working on flatboats made out of cardboard. The task was to see who could build the strongest boat to hold the most weight before sinking. The project was to get students aware of Abe Lincoln’s historic flatboat trip to New Orleans. This trip will be reenacted in 2028. The flatboat for that trip will be available on the Friday of Schweizer Fest. For a free will donation patrons will be able to get a glimpse of what a true pioneer flatboat looked like.
The students learned about single and double hull boats and weight distribution.

William Tell Elementary PE teacher Mr. Henrickson might think he's going to transition quietly into the summer, but we don't want him to forget what it is like to get SLIMED by Asher Goffinet who raised the most money for the American Heart Association for the fifth year in a row.
Our grade level winners were: K: Collin Harris, 1: Emberleigh Poehlein, 2: Evelyn Harris, 3: Kinley Fordyce, 4: Asher Goffinet, 5: Tristan Bundy, 6: Camden Carter
All the grade winners also got to throw a pie in his face!
We are proud that our students raised $4,757.55 for the American Heart Association!

As Ms. Sarah Peter retires from William Tell Elementary, we wish her the very best. She not only taught 6th grade science, she was also the Science Bowl coach with many "Top 10 in State" teams over the years. She also led Student Council, with this picture showing the drive her student council members came up with to support our local Animal Shelter. Good job, students, and best wishes to Ms. Peter!

Join the team!

After a staff retirement party, a card shower, staff gatherings, and lots of hugs, today Mrs. Noble threw a "See You Soon!" party for the William Tell Elementary students. Grade level photos were taken as the students came in from recess. The students were each given bracelets, and they enjoyed a piece of cake served with their lunch. Mrs. Noble extends a special thank you to the cafeteria ladies who went above and beyond to help make this celebration happen. The students thought the cake was delicious! One student told her teacher, "I'm never taking this bracelet off." Mrs. Noble has shared with the students that retirement is not good-bye, it's "See you soon!"
