How lucky are we at William Tell Elementary to have firefighters who care enough about our students to be here ALL DAY LONG to do fire safety demonstrations for our students?

The great challenge to create a giant pumpkin of 1000 pounds by William Tell Elementary students has fallen short at 400 pounds. Unfortunately, Patty developed a stem problem and has remained at the same weight for over one week. At one point in time she was growing 14 pounds per day until Mother Nature stepped in and gave us a cold snap. We still have Gerald on the vine tipping the scales at 176 pounds. Time is running short, so we don't know where he will end up. Patty will be set up in front of the school this week. Feel free to come by and get a picture. Frank will be there also. He is about 125 pounds. We will have Patty's seeds for sale at our fall festival. These are Atlantic Giant, William Tell Elementary seeds and will be 5 for $5. We will use the proceeds to purchase a place to store our tools and protect our technology. Thanks for all the support from our community!! We have learned a lot and plan to be back next year!!

What an honor for TCJSHS to receive at the Indiana Dept. of Education Awards Gala tonight. TCJSHS was recognized as the winner of the Excellence in College Readiness award. When 60% of our students are earning a credential of value before graduation, something is going right!! The award will be used to revamp the CTE wing of our building and to provide students with more opportunities to expand their knowledge in technical fields.

Tell City HS has been open for 96 years, so it's a rare day when something happens for the first time. But this morning, two of our students flew a plane over the school!! Drew Gruelich and Towa Kobayashi are taking an Aviation course in Huntingburg to start each day. A big thanks to Jarred Howard, Dustin Betz, and the Huntingburg Regional Airport for hosting local high school students as they begin their piloting journeys!!
