I love teaching Kindergarten!!! I have taught for 27.5 years and I still love the challenge. Over the course of my educational career, many of the teaching methods have changed. In the present day kindergarten classroom, the children are learning what parents probably learned in first grade or later. That is why teaching is such a challenge.
Let me tell you a little about me before I was a teacher...
I grew up in a small town in Iowa. I have three brothers and I am the youngest in my family. At the age of 20, I moved to southern Indiana after my husband graduated from college. I finished college at Brescia University. I did my student teaching at Tell City in the kindergarten and second grades. I was hired in 1988 by the Tell City School Corporation.
After beginning my teaching career, I had two sons. My oldest son, Corey, is now married and I am going to be a grandma!!!! I am so excited because they say it is a girl. My youngest son is Andrew. He is working for the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan . I now have an empty nest.
I also have four dogs that I consider my children. Einstein and Isabella are miniature schnauzers . Ginger is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and Roxie is a chocolate lab who has ruined many of my shoes over the summer. I also inherited my mom's dog. Her name is Lilly. We love our pets in my household!
When I am not teaching or working on school projects, I like to read, go for walks, take pictures and participate in most outdoor activities.
